Ace sportcars

Is this company anyone here?

http://www.acesportscars.com/

Anyone had any experience of them? They seem quite cheap for a basic starter kit...

If his components are as well executed as the website, should be good gear.

To be fair to all the manufacturers if you only offer the basic chassis kit in the same form as he is offering his prices are easily obtainable.

What people tend to find they need once they start the build is something with better features, easier to put together and to be able to get complementary items for the car at a later stage.

What you will find you want is value for money, not cheapness. They are very different things as you'll discover with something as complicated as a car build.

Kind regards,

Darren

I absolutely agree with you. Value for money and quality are paramount. The chassis I bought was powder coated but the brackets did not line up with the mounting holes in the diff. This meant removal and remaking, welding on brackets with consequent damage to the finish. Other areas of the chassis needed attention with an angle grinder. This was really disappointing and represented poor quality. It would have been better to have charged more for the chassis and employed some quality control. I am also building a Special from scratch and in many ways it is easier than trying to put together a kit where many of the bits do not fit properly.
