serious build problem
please i need help as i realized i welded the entire rear end to the chassis and i placed tubes RU1 and RU2 in the wrong place.
to give illustration of my mistake:
this is what is on the drawings and how RUs go on the chassis tube B:

i realized this after doing the rear end, i.e: RU1 and 2, V and Y
is it really going to unbalance the chassis, or intrude in the geometry or anything else?
is it worth it to cut them and waste a whole day's work to put them right?
please i need your opinion before going any further

They are only inset to clear the bracket on the live axle that hold the trailing arms.
As long as the bracket and bolt head don't hit the bar on full droop, you'll be fine.

Yes. I think it probably is worth the time because it is wrong and it will come back to haunt you further down the line.
I have found the hardest thing is to make the decision but once it is made you feel better about it and it never takes as long as you think. You have
the peace of mind knowing that the job is right and everything else will fit with no compensating. I have been there many times and that is my
advice.

Just realised - make sure the max width at the back is the same max width as the widest part of the cockpit (where you bum is) or it won't
work.

Yes, this will be a problem. The B1 tube is full-width, and you have made RU1 & RU2 the same width. As a result, the rounded tubes at the rear
go wider than the rest of the car. This will be a problem for you, aside from any issues related to axle brackets.
Unfortunately, I think you should re-do it. If it is any consolation, I just had to do something very similar (although mine was only tacked). I had
the tubes in the right places, but have decided to use a DeDion rear, and had to make a number of changes to accommodate.
It's never fun to have to re-do something that you have already completed, but it was definitely the right decision in my case.

you are so right on that one! i was so proud of the job... i even got both RUs at the same angle! btw. i will use a deDion but i did the RUs at an
angle just like the book, but i made them a bit flatter. i guess that will be ok...
plus i did all the welds in one go so iŽll have to make extensive use of the grinder.
you guys are right about changing this as the peace of mind will be the most important factor in the build, which is starting to get more difficult
and frustrating with the arc welder and the damn electrodes sticking to the metal.

It's a bit of a bummer when this happens. You know before you ask the question that your going to change it (be honest you already knew). As you
say (peace of mind and all that) will keep the doubt in your mind untill you change it. Good luck with the build.

the little extensions provide a support for the round tube on which the back panel goes on...
