bracket height?

Morning gents

I am in process of fitting suspension and need some advice from u clever chaps..
My question is.... how do you decided at what height on J1 and J2 you fit the bracket for my dampers?

Ok, hopefully get the ball rolling for you....
As I dont do J1, J2 etc, are you on about the top mount brackets for the dampers?
Have you got a standard sized chassis?
Do you have standard wishbones?
What length shockers are you using?
I am probably overcomplicating things here. Have you already got some dampers? If you set the car up for your desired ride height, the shockers ideally want to be approximately one third compressed from full extension. So just make/fit brackets to accomodate this.

Hi Stu
Thanks for reply... yes standard sized chassis, standard wishbones.
My dampers for the front are 12" open, 11.25" ride height and 10" full bump.

Do I fit engine etc and try and guess ride height?

Just use whatever you have lying around to 'space' the chassis from the floor, with the rest of the suspension built up, and the wheel fitted (you only have to do this on one side, assuming everything is square). Where possible, try to keep the shockers as upright as possible, they work better that way.
