Longer track rod ends.
I've found a company which will do extended Track rod ends (in fact they'll do most ball joints etc. to order). These are female threaded
for Escort MK2 racks and measure 97mm from the centre of the ball to the end of the threaded part. Bonus is that they have a 1" ball for extra
strength (normally 7/8" ). £15 each plus carr & VAT. Delivery about 3-5 working days. Anyone else interested before I place my order?
Cheers, Pewe

My estiamte from some photos is that the standard ones are about 80-90 mm; hmmmm they don't sound to be significantly longer - you definitely
sure they will be long enough?
the extsnios you see below are 40 mm and I am using tre chosen so they are the shortest.

(BTW I'm sorted for track rod ends with my extensions; since I cut my rack dwon, these wold be too shrot.)

The original ones on mine are 70mm from ball centre to shoulder edge v 100mm on the longer ones. 25mm might not sound a lot but from trhe safety point
of view safer than 12.5mm and better than extensions IMHO. According to the supplier they are used on one of the Cobra reps. Cheers, Pewe

I agree totally with you; just 100 mm didn't seem that much longer but then I don't have mine at hand to measure.
You may want to get a few extra pairs made and flog on ebay - had they been avaialbe before I choppped my rack, I would have got some. (cheaper than
a set of extensions + tres)

Dev, looked at it last night and there shouldn't be a clearance problem even with 13" rims. Cheers, Pewe

May be able to shave a bit off the price but because it sounds like it's going to be low numbers unlikely.
Next question is how many do you each want - just a pair or plus one or two in stock "just in case"?
Let me know asap please as I want to order mine. Cheers, Pewe.
