Don't think it's formula Vee, they use the Beetles torsion beam front suspension. Poss formula Vauxhall?

The chassis is very "tall" so almost certainly not Formula Ford as their chassis are low, the bodywork makes them look higher, don't think it's Formula First cos they have a transverse CVH engine IIRC.
The way it has "no back" to the chassis may be a clue, possibly a one-off from the University challenge or similar? I have some old Formula Ford 2000 bodywork which might fit with a bit of persuasion, better still slap some Furore sidepods on there & it's (almost) a F1 car!

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

The shape is right for Formula Vee, but the comment about suspension is fair. What about Formula 750?

I thought they changed the rules and the later formula vees were allowed wishbone front end? Certainly looks very vee ish.

no room for the engine if its a terrapin!
