Which kit???
OK Im now confused. Originally I was going to build as the book says. Then I found out about the sierra donor with IRS. THEN I found out about
BEC's. Then there is +442's.
Right. Im 6'2. Ive got a 2.0 sierra. I want to build the chassis myself. I might be tempted by a BEC. Any suggestions?

basically this has been covered loads of times
do you want comfort with a windscreen reverse etc great performance
or do you want a RAW ballistic missile that does 60mph in first gear doesnt go backwards
does 13,000rpm sounds harmonic
paddle shift sequential gear box
blah blah blah

The new book from Haynes is reputed to be out in February-ish [1].
It's based on a Sierra donor including IRS, although plans are already out there on the 'net for an IRS chassis[2].
[1] Anyone know anything for sure ?
[2] Not the same plans as the Haynes book, designed and researched by others.

There's a few of us building 442's and we all seem to be coming across the same problems.
If I was doing it again I'd go for a std book chassis as bodyparts are more available.
Get in touch with some of your local builders on here and have a seat in there cars. We all need time away from the build to have a natter
it's a very sociable hobby.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Youl fit in a book chassis. Im 6ft and i fit in mine and i dont have the seat right back.
As for the engine. If you already have a sierra id use that.
If i was building another id go mk or mnr.
