Tunnel and h Tube positions
Hi Guys,
Quick question: Zetec with MT75 Box. Just looking at Tunnel rails and position of the h uprights either side.
1. How far back/forward must the G/box be?
2. What sort of foot space do you normally get?
in other words has anyone got a pic of this part? or measurements?
Currently my front engine mating face of the box is about 4" infront of the Q tube is this too much?
Thanks in advance
J

Ive left the drivers side as book and have moved the engine over 3/4" into the pasanger footwell.

What I did, was get the stearing wheel position sorted, and then put the engine and gearbox in the chassis, positioning it so that the gear lever was
alongside the wheel. Then moved the tubes to give clearance, ended up making the passenger footwell smaller, (well misses is only tiny anyway ) HTH

To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy

It's a compromise between engine position and footwell space! Up to you to decide based on you pedal layout and foot space etc.
I put my engine all the way back so it's 'against' the firewall. This was actually a little too far as IIRC I have a 49/51 bias to
the rear of the car!
