polo rad

Hi

before going any further just wanted to check, i have a VW302 polo rad to fit to an MK Indy
Just unpacked it and found the four black plastic lugs where I thought the mounting bolts would attach have no threads.
I've read a thread here dealing with radiators where the concensus was to either tap or use self tappers.

Before I dive in and repent later is this the same with the VW302 polo rad? there are no other places I can see where the rad could be attached.

thanks for any help

Cheers
Nigel

The two projections at the top can be threaded but there should be four holes in the front for mounting (which might need tapping)

Cheers,
Raz

When thinking outside the box doesn't work any more, it's time to build a new box

I've got VW302 and tapped the top mounting points (M6 i think) you can use the ones on the front too (see surrey daves archive) i only used the bottom two for rad fan and used the pegs on the bottom of the rad for fitment to chassis.

There are some pics in one of my zetec archive folders, i'm almost finished with the upgrades so i'll add some more pics later.

you can screw a 6mm bolt straight in to make its own thread only go about 6mm deep and use locknut and locktight to secure
