Space between body and rear wheels ?

Hi,
I've just baught an unfinished seven replica, it hasn't got any rear wings and i noticed the space between the offside wheel and the body and the space between the near side one and the body are about an inch different,,or more, i was wondering is this normal becaus of the diff and axel? (it's been built on a mk1 escort axel.

It could maybe just be the panhard bar is not set right?
