2nd question

how severe do you find the sierra lsd.

I've been used to the plate type live english axle which did used to clunk a bit but gave great grip and could doughnut for fun.

how do you guy's rate the viscous sierra lsd. does it tend to spin one wheel a lot or are they fine?

i found the sierra lsd ok, it would tend to accelerate ok but with a small amount of L/H lock to correct the slide and seemed to drift on hard brakeing from the rear.
my personal opinion (FWIW) is it's a little severe for a lightwieght 7, but is reasonably cheap and does a reasonable job (and great donuts)
I'm not using an lsd on this build at the moment but if i feel it needs one i think i would fit a quaiffe unit or similar

Was that a standard axle, or fitted with a LSD?

On mine, on a wet road, the back end steps sideways just a little when the LSD engages and back the otherway when it disengages. It doesn't cause a problem when it happens. It does limit wheelspin when it engages and I've never had a problem with traction except in heavy rain with big throttle inputs in low gear. I've never driven a non-LSD seven to compare but I cetrainly don't dislike the LSD.

it was the standard english axle found on the anglia with a typical escort lsd fitted.

cheers for comments guy's

very helpful I'm finding this forum thus far. when people make the effort when they don't need to really makes the difference.

not enough people around like that these days. I intend to offer my experience back to the forum also and give back.

all the best
