wot do you use to repack silencers?
ndtwm but what dpo you use - that is cheap - to repack a silencer?

Try http://www.fuelexhausts.com/ I bought re-packing kits from them for bike exhausts, about a tenner a go.

I used to use fibreglass insulation on my old 50cc and 125's - don't know if it's strictly correct though...![](/images//smilies/bigsmile.gif)

Only one choice really - fibreglass that is designed for the job. E-glass is probably the best variety imo but CBS sell a ready made
'sausage' that slides onto the perforated core - it comes in a couple of sizes iirv.

short term you can get away with fibreglass loft insulation but it tends to get blown out very quickly so best off sticking with the proper stuff IMHO

I used to use bits of fiberglass loft insulation nicked my my old mans loft when I lived at home. Worked very well, but that was a two stroke which
have somewhat lower exhaust temperatures than four stroke engines.

i use GRp off cuts from making stuff .
stainless steel wool - is the other expensive option .
