Why so many racers for sale?
Hello...just wondering...there are several Locost racers (including some ones with decent results) for sale at the moment.
Any reason why? Why now? Is something happening with the championship so people are bailing? Or is there no viable conspiracy theory....hmm....

Most of the guys that are leaving are in their 3rd, 4th ot 5th year in the series. Perhaps they think it is time to move on.
Two of the top drivers have recently had new additions to their families.
Oulton is oversubscribed, with at least 4 reserves.

Hi as Simon says above some that are leaving have new famile comitments.
Also the locost championship is used as a stepping stone into motorsport. Where you can build your own car and race it whilst learning all the
in's and outs of it.
Whith locost being a lower powered car it is a championship that learns you to drive and race smothly to gain the speed. As you will have seen from
the vids posted that drafting plays a key part. It also enables novises to learn what is needed to to progress through the grid as you improve with
your driving and car setup whith the knowlege you are learning as you race.
It is only natrual for any driver to want to move on after 2-3-4 years in one formula to try somthing new whith a new challenge.
And as Simon also says the grids are healthy with quite a few new people comming out next season also. There are no new big changes to the regulations
except the ussual tidying up of and clarifications.
It's buissness as usual and a whole heap of fun with some cracking racing thrown is as well
Cheers matt

All good points.
So no connection with all the buying and selling of Luego etc and potential sponsorship wobbles? (Or am I introducing some wobbles just by talking
about this?)
I'd love to get involved and since it's not practical for me to build a car I'm just checking that we potential buyers aren't
in for a nasty surprise that you fellows on the inside know about.

Hi forgot to say that the two remaining races for locost are on Sept 8th at oulton park and sept 29/30 at snetterton.
I am shure if you attended either for a butchers you would be made most welcome by all as a 2008 new driver.

I'm still amazed how fast the 750 racers go on a 850cc robin reliant engine on a single choke carb (though they've moved 'up'
to an untuned 1100cc fiat engine now IIRC)

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

For every one thats sold, the same one is bought. Ive bought one of them & will be out in the last race of the year. I did stock hatch for most of
this year. No problems with the championship. Just fancied a change. Guess its the same with the locosters movin on.

Dont want to worry you Rich, but at Cadwell James packed up and went home because he called his car a pile of sh**t, but it still went very well from
where I was driving. See you at Snetterton come over for a chat and tea Ernie #67

OK Ernie, Cheer me up why dont you.
I think he took his bat home after fitting his new all singing and dancing engine and then parking up with an electrical fault.
However his results are reasonable so the cars got plenty. just have to see what I've got now.
See you at snetterton.
