Progress (At Last!)

After much concern about my welding abilities I'm at last getting near to completing the chassis.

It's a McSorley 7+4 but is certainly much heavier than the 35 lb suggested in the book. More like 35 Kg.

Looks a nice job. You can really see the extra width in the chassis.

Judging from the "inspiration" parked on your drive, you're going for cycle wings all round and minimalist lights on the rear!? I like the colour scheme as well

Interesting boat tail, is that an old Austin?

What is the width of your frame, outside to outside?

regards

Steve

Nice Job!
Could you post any photos with close details, like welding joints? Your welding machine?

The car in the drive is a 1929 Austin 7 "Ulster" which I built up from an old chassis and various parts obtained from autojumbles etc.

Fun to drive on a warm day but a bit scary when modern vehicles pass very close since the quarter eliptic rear springs mean that every time you hit a bump you get a bit of rear wheel steering so it tends to hop around the road.

Nice to see someone doing it the old fashioned way and building from scratch.
