only bike engines?

Hi there, i want to build a locost, but cant weld so want to buy a chassis. I was gonna buy a lolocost cos they're so cheap but then read on here that they're rubbish so i started checking out some other companies. I've found that Stuart Taylor is cheaper than MK or Luego, but it is designed for a bike engine. i wanna fit a Cross flow (cos we've got 3 of them) so basically: can you fot a X/Flow in a Stuart Taylor chassis? Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

From what i know the ST loco chassis are all the same, be it blade, crossflow, pinto etc, the only difference is the mounting points for the engine and gearbox, or if you go Bike engined, then you can buy the cradle to take whatever engine options they have available.

In short the total car dimensions are the same otherwise the factory supplied bodywork would not fit, it would need to be specific to the engine type = lits of fiberglass forms and lots of extra cost.

If i am wrong someone give me a swift crack in the plums, but i think i am right!

Stuart Taylor are quite happy to put a x/flow into their locost chassis, ask Tim Gray he has just won his 13th consecutive 750 mc locst race with a 1300 x/flow
