no, as long as it's the correct gauge and welded correctly it will be fine

i think he means if you dont have a receipt for the steel for the chassis then it wont get a Q plate.
that seems to be the current wisdom, but surely your mate can do you a recipt? If you have a computer (cos ya do if you are readin this!) do a
professional looking invoice and use that. Im sure that it wont be a problem.
the sva dont care where the steel comes from - but the local licensing office will when they decide what plate you get.
the sva manual doesnt exclude you using a licorice frame - it has to be seen as up to the job, which i doubt any sugar based product would be
