engine in!:)
Finished the modifications to the engine mounts this morning and just finished the gearbox mounts over the last couple of hours and finally the engine
and gearbox sits in its place on its own mounts no more jacks and blocks of wood.
Big step, finally feels like im making progress.
Tomorrow its time to begin on the front suspension, got the wishbones the other day so i have to make up the brackets for it and then eventually will
have to start modifying my bmw uprights! long week / weekend ahead i think!
Now off to work to learn how to lift properly how boring! least its payed

ye mabye it could have been but im not to bothered! ive sat in it with no seat at all and can see over it fine! so onces its got a seat in aswell it
shouldnt be an issue.
Im planning to do something different to a 7 shape anyway so its not going to make it look completly wrong!

Might be an issue for SVA if the sharp engine is sticking out of the bonnet. You might need to lower it. Most peoples sump sits proud of the chassis
by at least an inch.

^ yeah, but a bonnet buldge would sort any SVA issues

yep that was my thinking blake!
if there are any problems that i notice early i can always take a section out of the mounts and lower it an inch or so!
but i really dont think itll be necessary!

ye well i hope its all planned out well enough! if not i might have some serious issues later on!
Thanks sam! ye it took me a couple weeks of 3 hours a night to get mine completly stripped out! but yours will probably be harder than mine since
youve got a bigger engine and its a 5 series so probably more stuff in it than my 3 series!
keep me updated on your progress sam! is nice to kno i didnt go completly wrong using a bmw donor!

Not necessarily. It fixes the sharp bits requirement, but a bulge that obscures vision badly will fail.

It is too high imo.
Or you will have to fit a T-ford-nose.
Please feel free to correct my bad English, i'm still learning. Your Dutch is awfull! :-)

One of my SVA failures was the height of the bonnet bulge (about 1.5" higher at front than avatar pic), so you've been warned

I also have a tall engine but i have dropped mine so the sump is 2" below the chassis. If you are worried about speed bumps you could fit air
suspension.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?
