Off shoot
An off shoot to the other topic , I think rather thinking of a singular material here Ie ,carbon fibre we would be better off using a combination
.putting in strength where we need it taking wait out of areas that don't need the strength using the sides as structural parts rather than to
keep off the wind and look pritty ,If guys on here really want to make a lighter chassis they most do there home work not think to much down one train
of thought here combination is the Key your thoughts please .

you mean along the lines of a semi monocoque chassis.
to add to the carbonfibre debate i would suggest using a carbon armid weave rather than pure cf as it is far better in an impact and alot more
resistant to cracking from minor impacts

alu lamanates
thinking along the lines of an alu lamanate section with composite sides braced with carbonfibre tube with alu fittings bonded and or bolted some
testing to be done here.almost a tub as you say .
