I've seen the light... I think

Hi

I built my Tiger Avon with a 2.0l zetec(gsxr TB injected megasquirt). I now think I should have put a bike engine in it. If I can't sell the car over the summer I am going to put a Bike engine in it during the winter.

It has to be fast. I did have the zetec supercharged for a while doing the 1/4 mile in 13secs at 115mph. Grip was the problem. I want a bike engine that will do that or faster, not neccessarly that high a top speed though.

How much work am I looking at?
Are BEC cars harder to control slides and stuff due to less front end weight?

Could you guys help me with a parts list including rough costs of individual parts and where to get them from. I will keep editing this post with all costs, parts and where to get them. I would like to buy as much off the shelf as possible. Hopefully this will help many others too. I dont want to start spending silly money was hoping to do it under 2.5k all in.

Parts so far

Exhaust manifold cost £££££
Engine cost £££££
propshaft cost £££££
box steel for cradle cost £££££
new water pipes cost £££££
oil and filer cost £££££
sump baffle plate? cost £££££
spark plugs cost £££££
paddle gear change cost £££££

why not see if someone near you will give you a shot so you can see if it really is what you want?

Why do you want to take the zetec out and put a slower lawnmower engine in BTW??
