what EXACTLY is track??

What exactly is track?? is it the distance betwee nthe wheel mounting flanges, the distance between the outside edges of the standard vehicle tyres??

It is the distance between the centres of the tyre tread.

yep, also alters quite a bit when you take the wheels off and start moving em around the workshop

Absolutely, my track is massive as one front wheel is at one end of the garage and one is at the other. It's about 14 ft I think.
