Worry about weld quality?
Do you have to worry about weld quality too much? I am new at welding but I have to say I think my welds are looking pretty good so far. Obviously the
quality of a weld is important but is it that important? I mean is an OK weld going to hold this thing together and still be safe?

best way to check your welds is it check penetration by cutting them open. not always practical on every weld though,
next best think is to post some photos on here and we can give our opinions on wire speed etc

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Think of each weld as Miss July.
You want it to look nice,
You want it to be smooth,
You want it to be uniform,
You want it to be strong,
And you want good penetration...
Currently, my welds are more a russian shotputter. Fat, Ugly and agressive! They should hold though.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.
