brake pipes
Hi guys.
This is my first post as i just joined this afternoon.
My question is this...
rather than have a combo of copper pipes and flexi pipes is there any reason (SVA or otherwise) i can't have braided flexi lines from the master
cylinder to calipers???

perfectly alright, and thats how i'm doing it
loads of folk will tell you braided pipes don't give the same feel as solid lines, but its all nonsense
use proper goodridge stuff and it;s all good, otherwise rally cars and race cars wouldn't do it

yep, i thought of that, and its not very much really. easier, looks better because
1) the stainless braided finish
2) uncurling copper pipe never really straightens out properly.
easier to route (if you change your mind, cut the tie wraps/clips and move as much as you like) less likely to get damaged by road debris i reckon
don't know about good ridge making them for you. they probably can though. that could cost a bit, but there's a guy on here does them
(Russbost) or you could buy all the bits and do them yourself. rallydesign sell all the bits. pipe is something like £3.50 a meter, fittings are a
couple of quid each.

Not just the cost, the practicality.
Male ends that wind into the calipers would need winding all the way back to the master cylinder, then you need to support correctly, no easy nut and
bolt type fixing to brackets on the chassis.
Sounds horrible, hard and expensive to me, why go against what every car manufacturer does? Running solid lines and flareing the ends is easy and
neat.

I doubt i will ever buy copper lines again. just a pain in the arse in my opinion.
Most calipers and master cylinders have a machined face around the inlet/outlet so banjo fittings are the answer. they can be tightened up with normal
Hex socket aswell.

You don't have to "wind" fittings in as I can supply a swivel end to save the hassle, I have supplied several cars in various

remember you CAN remove the caliper to turn that on to the pipe if you don't have swivel fittings lol
