Why all the different tube sizes?
is there a reason some of the chassis tubes are made from 3/4" RHS instead of 1"?
I have loads of 1" and if I can use that instead of having to buy more 3/4 stuff i'd rather save the money. Locost and all that!
I've got loads of round tube too!

If you are using a BMW V8, use lots and lots of 1", don't bother with the 3/4", triangulate everything including your
triangulation
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

When you have done all that - add some reinforcement!
If you build it right, that's going to be totally mental by the way

Yeah but he wants a Light Fast Car..... if he triangulates the triangluation of the tringulation then he will get to a point that 4 tons of Steel will
be lighter than his chassis.
Another point is that if it is triangulated and designed correclty in the first place then it can be strong and light even with oversized tube.
Some people thing than more triangulation is better, that is NOT always the case. I remeber playing a simple bridge building game online and that
showed how how even a very trigulated structure could be weak....

Im using mostly 1" for my lightweight [cough cough ] engine with LOADS of triangulation
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?
