bonnet catches + reprofiled side panels

as you can see in the pics in the below thread:

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk./viewthread.php?tid=103592&page=1&contribmessage=none

the side panels on our mk have been re-profiled from standard. The PO wanted to line up with the bulges in the nose - i think it looks quite neat, but different etc.

But we've come to realise that the normal 'pull down' style latches that are designed to sit on 2 flush faces may not work with this design - as they may tend to pull the bottom of the bonnet 'apart' or outward as opposed to straight down.

Anyone have any suggestions for alternatives?

We can of course make some sort of locating dowel arrangement for the bonnet to sit down onto which prevents the skin from being pulled sideways, but i just wondered if there were any other novel and SVA approved ways of holding the bonnet down?

Hi,
I have used Aerocatches with very good results.

simply put two strips steel across the front and back edges (just rivet them to the chassis rails) with some pins sticking up to go through corresponding holes in the lip of the bonnet and then you can use the standard clips and the bonnet will not shift about either.
