I'm looking to get the rear brakes for the Indy soon and trying to find out a few things.

I have been told that fitting willwood's at the front will be fine but rears perhaps would be too powerful and I should just run with Sierra callipers & Mondeo discs.

Does anyone know what sort (ie model year and sizes) of rear callipers and disc I going to need.

I used the callipers and disks
from the sierra on my indy
and find them more than up
to stopping the car.
Why do you want to use mondeo disks?

Assuming you have standard Sierra discs on the rear, I don't see why Wilwood calipers would be too powerful..... Sierra stuff is more than up to the job of stopping an Indy but if you want lightweight calipers and a bit of bling, then go for the Wilwoods.

Sorry I should have said.

MK have advised me that the willwood's tend not to go through SVA. When speaking to them they told me that they were fitting mondeo front discs and sierra rear callipers and could supply a set for £300. Basically before i order a set from them, i'm seeing if i could get the price down. If I can get the right sizes etc. I can speak to my work to see if we can get trade discount from one of our suppliers.

My wilwoods front and rear went through sva no problem.

I would say you could get sierra discs and calipers from a local motor factors for less than 300 squid!!

see i'm thinkin that I could get them for less than £300 aswell, but I need to know what type of calliper and what size discs I need. The motor factors always ask what year and what model of Ford sierra parts i want. The problem is they don't know themselves and can't advise.

Hi-Spec do a few kits for kit cars and I'm pretty sure they do rears. I'm going to autosport on sunday, they were there last year and were very helpfull. If I see them again I'll ask for you.

I seem to remember the front kit was less than £300.

MK may be including the hub and carrier kit in their price though.

300? I only paid 200 for willwoods up front including disks.

Sierra rear calipers are always much more expensive than the fronts, must be because they are rarer!!. The cheapest ones I could find when i was doing my build was £250 for the pair (reconditioned ones) so £300 sounds about right for the discs as well.

Just ordered some through work. All new Brembo disc's, pads and sierra callipers. £210 +VAT

Arrive on Monday hope they fit........

and...............they don't fit.

I think I need the brake caliper carriers? I this true or have I got the wrong ones? Or and more likely is that a dumb question?
