Hi all. Looking to buy some brakes for my Indy. I think i have settled on wilwood fronts. Don't know which ones i have to get, either
Powerlite £242 + vat
http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=562_563_567&products_id=10508
or
Midilite 260mm £367 + vat
http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=562_563_567&products_id=14504
Or i'm open to suggestions.
Thanks for your help.
Pete.

I went for Midilites at the front only because they were the only caliper Wilwood would paint red, They are bigger than the powerlites but look
lovely!!
and i went for powerlites at the rear.
heres a pic

In my experience, avoid the midilites, especially on the 260mm vented discs.
I had the 260's and had a nightmare getting heat into them.
For me it would be the Powerlites with a solid disc and as Chris said some quality pads, such as Mintex or Pagid's blues.
I have the Powerlites and solid disks.
Massively lighter and much better than the sierra ones.
Steve.
go for hi spec (british ) they have dust seals wilwoods dont! and as we salt the roads ,dust seal will come in handy!
Wilwoods Midilites have dust seals
ive got midilites with 260 vented and drilled discs, and they stop superbly. i thought i might have to be carefull with them locking up but there nice and progessive, make sure when you order them to tell them what they are going in and they will get you the right piston size so there not too powerfull.
i vote for hispec. much nicer calipers and better to deal with in my experience.
I just had the same idea to replace my standard Sierra brakes.
Is Rallydesign the best place to buy these from?
I have the Midilite kit with 283mm grooved discs on my MK Indy.

Haven't had a chance to test them yet, but I think they will be Ok. The midilite has dust seals which was one of the main reasons for me to
choose them.

rally design are really good service would not touch hispec with a barge pole. terrible service and crap after sales if anything goes wrong. do a search and see how many have had problems with them..
nice to see wilwood have took notice and fitted seals there early ones did'nt have them! I'd still buy british thougth £-$ rate is poo and Hi specs are made in the UK! (keep a brit in a job! "every little helps"
emailed wilwood and dust seals are in one tpye of caliper the rest do not have them!

Thank you for your interest in Wilwood Disc Brakes. The only caliper we offer with dust seals is the Dynapro Radial mount caliper. http://www.wilwood.com/Products/001-Calipers/014-DRM/index.asp Regards, MJ
Long time since post was first written. Went to Stoneleigh on Sunday. Purchased some powerlites.
Got them from Rally design (i think thats the only place you can buy them from).
Powerlites, Grooved and drilled discs, pads.
£250 inc VAT and no p&p, I though that was a bargin.
