After approximately 10 hours use the passenger side cycle wing mount on our indy failed. The top support snapped - presumably a fatigue failure as the
wings do wobble around constantly.
Anyone else had this?
I welded ours back up and then braced across the corner with a piece of st st flat and that has worked a treat in preventing the wobbling on both
sides.
you mean the bit thats attached to the upright? mine are both okay, after loads of miles...

"Anyone else had this?"????
If yours haven't fallen off you haven't been driving the damn thing.
It's standard procedure when you hit about 1500miles
Pity the other manufacturers haven't copied the excellent MNR design it wouldn't happen then.
Cheers,
James
Mine haven't fallen off but then they're the agricultural STM 5mm bar supports so they're never going to bend or break!!! They usually made them from thinner material but also had a problem with fracturing so I chose the chunky ones....

Our original MK wing stays did 3,000 mile in the first Indy, survived a head on collision with a lamp-post, did another 7,000 miles on the second Indy
and have since been sold on to another forum member to enjoy for years to come.
The wing stays were still in perfect shape even after this crash test
Phil
mine are still in tact
altho i used 5mm flat steel on top and it was forced into the tubes about 3"
Mine are doing fine
Although its not on the road yet, my my head is decidedly feeling 2nd hand after I caught it on the wing bracket. Bled like a stuck pig I did
