MK Indy nut size
jabbahutt - 27/4/09 at 07:20 AM

Morning all.

Can anyone tell me the size of the large nuts that adust/lock the camber of the rear wheel on the Indy.

Last trip out got home to find one of the rear wheels completely loose of the nuts had slackened off. Can't get a spanner on there and none of my sockets are large enough.

Was going to source a socket today but fogot to measure before leaving the house. either that or any info/tips on how to get them done up nice and tight so they won't undo as in situ they're a bit awkward to get at.

Cheers
Nigel

30mm (AFAIK)

I used a massive socket and an adjustable spanner as you need to hold the inner one still while you tighten the outer one.

i fixed my loose nuts by using a nylock, half nut closest to wheel and full nylock closest to diff

That's a good idea, anyone know what thread details and hole size those nuts are so I can try and get some this week?

i cant remember i just took the half nut to the nut shop and got the nylocks for free, i just had to put some change in there charity box as they had a minimum spend

Cheers for the offer Paul. I'm on a 4 day week at the moment so I was going to pop in on Wednesday and see if they had any half nut nylocs of that size.

Out of curiosity where did you source your socket from? or is it part of a set? If this turns out to be a frequent re visit for the time being until I sort it out I may invest in one.

Just seen Halfords do a deep socket for £7 or a standard 30mm for £5. I'll probably pick one up for that sort of money.
