I have a few questions for things i'm finding hard on the build, Hopefully you kind people will be able to help
1) How do I tighten the Hub nut Without the driveshaft just turning... The car is being built on tables so in the air the hubs need to be tightened...
about 2 mm gap needs closing although I can push them in easily.
2) I want to completely strip the sierra steering column of eveything! barrel etc... Now how do i get the top bearing to stay in place as im sure when
i take the barrel off it will just fall through? Has anyone got any pictures?
Cheers Toby

Put the handbrake on or similar?
Doesn't the steering wheel and washer hold the bearing in situ?
When i did my hub nuts i used a vice done up nice and tight to hold the hub and stop them turning. Worked a treat!! Hope you've got a big torque wrench as they need to be torqued to 310nm or something stupid, had to borrow one from a friendly mechanic
to hold the driveshaft??
Or stick a pipe or bar through the propshaft.
Use an air impact wrench!
You can hold the driveshaft with your free hand if you use one of these.
best way i've seen,
use an old disc on the hub. Drill a
hole through the hub & bolt a long
bar to it. Bar should push against
the ground as you tighten.
Worked well for me.
(not my design, amalyos to thank for that)
