Sounds like you haven't done your homework......What does the V5 give as the make and model?

Angus180 - 18/7/09 at 02:41 PM

its a mk alrite, i changed the policy from 1.6 to 2.0 they have got everything correct apart from the engine size build date and number of seats!!

Angus180 - 18/7/09 at 02:48 PM

its some of the details from the old car

RichardK - 18/7/09 at 02:54 PM

Hopefully its ok but please check what the v5 says as the make and model, if still says ford sierra or something like that then you will have to iva it to get it on the road registered correctly.

Not trying to be negative in any way but you do need to find this out as any insurance will be invalid if the vehicle isn't registered to drive on the road and isn't what the v5 doc says it should be.

Cheers

Rich

that sounds to me that you have the old cars v5 in witch case when you insure it you will be insureing the old car and not a mk,if this is right you will have to get it iva tested.

oldtimer - 18/7/09 at 03:09 PM

Angus, we are concerned for you as if your vehicle is not properly registered it's unlikely to be legal, insurable etc. It is not an impossible position but it may not be 'buy and drive'. The build date being wrong is another clue.

Thank goodness for that. Sorry about the panic words but your first post send up a lot of warning flags. Best of luck with the new purchase, I hope you enjoy every minute of it - and get used to it before you decide what to change!
