Getting MK to answer the phone
DIY Si - 30/9/09 at 05:45 PM

Basically, any tips? I've been trying to get through to them so I can order a new set of wishbones, but they don't ever seem to answer the phone. It just rings out to the fax machine noise. I've tried e-mailing, but just get the automatic, "cheers, we'll reply if we feel the need to" e-mail.
Is there a magic batphone number, or an e-mail address that works?

Never had any trouble myself.

im popping in to mk tomorrow after work about 3. wanna pass on your details u2u style, and ill get them to ring you while there

they tend usually to be very busy..... its quicker for me to pop down (5miles away) than ring them at times

You just have to keep trying. I had similar problems when I was buying my exhaust from them. It wasn't forever, they did eventually answer.

the main reasoning behind my choice of kitcar was the fact they're right on my doorstep

tbh i think they will be glad when my kits built more than i do at times :s

there a great bunch of lads really

It's a noisy business you know, cutting metal and welding etc. Try ringing them at lunchtime when they're eating their butties.

there just slow up north, must be the cold. You can get telephone repeaters for noisy workshops that would wake the dead...if you want to that is.

You may not be able to do this if the parts are specific to them but in my opinion if I get crap service I would go somewhere else. Simple as that. If they want business they need to have the basic infrastructure in place to service A BUSINESS. I think that a lot of you are being far to kind to them. This is not the first time a comment like this has been made about MK (and I DO NOT have an axe to grind about them)

Looking at all postings which show positive service, there is a chance that the phone system may have been down briefly.

One of the reasons I chose not to get an MK, I emailed and called leaving a message with 'someone who just answers their phone for them' (???), just asking some simple questions, and as a prospective customer I would have expected a reply. Which I never got. Where as with Raw (who Im now likely to buy through) answered my emails in an hour and every subsequent email was answered quickly and with all the info I needed.

To be fair, If MK were more local I may have given them a 2nd chance.

I phoned them a week or so back to order wishbones, answered first time.

Never had a problem with them, if its like here (work being a fabrication workshop) ring at brew or dinner time, it gets right up my nose when im just about to sit down for a bite to eat.

saturday mornings is normally a good time to call them.
