I am hopefully going to look at an MK Indy in a day or so. I know it has a Pinto engnea nd is road registered, that is about it though. The Pinto
while not being to everyones taste will suit me for now as it will be my first car of this type. Anyway, what would be other things to look for ?
The price seems really good, but I guess it depends on the "bolt ons" - Just a few ideas really - I am thinking carbs, diff type etc. Any
other pointers would be appreciated - Just general questions to ask the owner, ta

Check the documents are for the correct car and not a Dutton or other such non-MK car!!!
Make sure that you see the reg doc and that it is registered as a MK Indy not a robin hood or a spartan or a Magenta etc.
Look at the general build quality, the cost and quality of the 'Bolt ons' etc.
Post a few pics up if you can there will be plenty of opinions

The other thing to check if you're driving it back is that all the suspension nuts are in place. It's not unknown for them to fall off and
you might only find out when you're driving. Which isn't fun, believe me
IE basically do a quick spanner check. Shouldn't stop you buying the car if a nut is loose but might stop you crashing on the way back with it!!!

So if it is "fairly" standard PINTO build MK, all in good order, nice and straight, what sort of money do you think I should be paying?
Assume that the build quality is good.
Just as a guide price for a good Pinto Indy,you should be able to pick one up this time of year for around the £4500 to £5000 mark,but you could be looking at up to around £6000 to £6500 for a top spec pinto,with a few nice bits & bobs fitted,and some tuning to then engine etc
