Out of interest what tyres are you lot using? My R1 Indy at the moment has Goodride (not Goodridge) 205/40/17's which I have never heard of and suspect were part of a wheel package that came with the TSW alloys from the first owner. Basically from first impressions having not owned this car for long they are crap!! Managed to spin them in second gear on a dry road the other day without any effort.
The brand of the tyres is only part of the issue here.
you have 17" rims which is much more of an issue.
Have a bit of a search on the merits of various wheel sizes.
The enlightened always end up with 13" rims - eventually
Interesting, have tried the search but every time I go back I have to retype everything in the search box which is a PITA
Hi,when i built my indy the build manual suggested 15" wheels with an offset of 38, as far as i can remember. I got a good deal on a set of
wheels, the tyres i used were Yoko Parada, which have served me very well over the years. Tyre size 195/50/15. I would recommend these for good grip
on track or road. But as suggested i keep my 15" for the road, and purchased some 13" Capri Brooklands 7 spoke wheels and some slick tyres
for this years trackdays. That is when the weather improves!!!
Cheers Eric.

F5 works a treat thankyou. I am not about to purchase new wheels so looks like I am stuck with 17's so if this is the case what are the best tyres for fast road use. Could I put a narrower tyre on say a 195 as opposed to the 205 I have at the moment. Would this make it any better?
if you stick with the 17s avon zz3 are about £55 a corner and are fine but like every one will say 13s are best usually a set on ebay for around £100 then put toyos on........dont forget tyre pressure i run around 18psi but my 2L pinto is heavier than your bike engine
Just found some Team Dynamics Monza RS B+RL 15x6.5 fitted with 195/50-15 Tyres for £319.00. Includes delivery as well. Cheap as chips!!
Anyone have some pics of their Indy with smaller wheels.
