Ford Sierra 1.8 Turbo Diesel

Anybody know apart from the engine if a ford sierra 1.8td running gear etc and rest of car is the same as the 1.8/2.0 pinto cars?

Little things like no efi pump and revcounter may be different if you are using the clocks.

it'll have a type 9 gearbox with a long input shaft (like the V6 ones) and a slightly longer bellhousing to match

Cheers for that lads, not caring about engine and box, just running gear, diff ,steering colum etc for donnar pack

Diff ratio may suit the BECers asit is a higher ratio. Can't remember the ratio now

The 2.3 Peugeot engined sierra had the 3.15:1, the 1.8 TD usually had the standard 3.92:1

The diff would suit me fine as I have a bec indy at the min and its 3.9 and was thinking about going that route again

Rear drums will give better brake balance as well - and an easy handbrake pass.

most of the 1.8D's I've seen have had 3.62 diffs - but the vin plate will soon tell you
