I just noticed a £10 cheque going out of my account, I pretty much never write cheques and I know my cheque book has been sat in the safe for at least 6 months. I know it's only a small amount but I'm a fraud investigator so anything dodgy could be a big embarrasment.

Anyways, legged it down to the bank and it turns out it was just the MK Owners club cashing my cheque that I sent on 27 May 2009 so panic over, but come on fellas that's a bit slack isn't it and a u2u or some other form of notification would have been nice. Anyways it's paid now, then again my next years subscription is due about now?

They can if they want to but not all banks do.

I think that's changed, date doesn't matter now.

banked them in a batch and some become
