I was never very happy with the steering on my Indy [no self centreing, lack of feel, and not great over bumps].
I spent a bit of time modifying my wishbones [based on what Hellfire Phil did] to allow the castor to be increased, and also lifted the rack to dial
out bump steer.
I drove the car for the first time today and it is transformed! The steering now feels great, with strong centreing and lots more feel.
It also goes in a straight line when I hit a bump now as well.
Overall, the best improvement I have made to the car.
Stu

What kpi are you running with 7.5 degrees of castor?
I have a similar problem on my Silva and I was told the ammount of castor is related to the kpi.
The Silva has cortina kpi i.e. 5 degrees kpi are you using sierra uprights with around 8 degrees kpi?
Cheers
David
How did you go about raising the rack?
Was it a simple pack it up with washers or did you manage to raise it vertically (IIRC the standard mounting position is angled)?
Cheers
Nick

Does that not have the effect of shifting the rack forward/backward (can't recall which way it's angled) as well as up?
