I'm sturgling a little with the rear uprights and brakes on my MK Indy R, even with th MK instruction manual!
1st how do I tell the left upright from the right?
2nd all the pictures I look at the brake cylinder seems to be at the top. Which ever side I put the rear brake set up the cylinder isn't at the
top. Is this right?
cylinders to the top handbrake cable enters from the bottom facing the front of the car. I thought the rear uprights where none handed I could be wrong
Here is the 2 uprights side by side and you can see the bolt holes are different.
Here is the 1st brake assembly lined up with the holes.
and here is the 2nd neither has the wheel cylinder at the top
didnt notice your initial post stated indy R mine is an indy. It could be that you have uprights for disc brakes I think these are different to drum brake uprights
Those are the same as mine which have rear discs. Don't know if mk do different ones for drums though. I believe all indy R's are designed
for rear discs.

I Rang MK this morning and Davegtst
is right you can only fit rear discs to a Indy R.
So the build gets a little more expensive.
Davegtst which way round did you fit your uprights?
The one on the left of your picture goes on the offside. Guess you need the whole lot now, rear hubs, discs, driveshafts, diff, calipers etc. Luckily i wanted rear discs anyway but MK never told me i had to have them for the indy R either.
MK do an adaptor to put on my rear hubs, which is £10 per side. So all I need is the adaptors, calipers, brake discs and pads, at least I don't need hubs and driveshafts.
Can you not just use the uprights for an drum braked mk?
The Indy R rear set up is different to the Indy. I think the shocker bolts to the top.
I'm going to go down the rear disc route. It means I can stop a bit quicker.
