mounting brackets for brake pipes / flexi hoses
mads - 4/4/11 at 10:07 PM

right, this came out in conversation at tonight's south brum meet..

it appears that the MK Indy R chassis does not have pre-welded mounting points for where the brake pipes and flexi hoses meet (both front and back). so does anyone have any pics or suggestions on where to (and how to) put these - will save me hassle and time when I come to measuring for brake lines. will also help another Indy R builder from this region.

the fronts you just put through the bodywork, at the rears you just put them together right after a pipe clip. could always just stick a wee ali bracket on too.

Its a little risky using aluminium brackets to support brake unions as they are an IVA fail. Good ole VOSA believe they will fatigue and break.

We manufactured an 'L' shaped aluminium bracket to strengthen the front edge of the side panel and also provide a more substantial connection for the brake flexi's. There should be pictures in the 'rebuild' section of our website (April) if you want to have a look..
