im after an r1 kit car and iv just seen this. how much is iva and how long does it take, or can you pay someone to get it through for you so you dont
have the stress? i had a mk indy fireblade last yr and sold it to a chap in cardiff and regetted it ever since
linky MK Indy R1 | eBay UK
for a start it wont have the claimed 180 bhp. 130 whp would be more accurate if set up correctly. for reference my old 2001 R1 was 133 whp
only bid If he can supply all relevant documentation photos of build otherwise it could cause a bit of a headache when getting it through the inspections
u think its best just to buy 1 done, just to save the headache. and can any of you guys tell me wot sort of difference power wise a r1 has over a 919 fireblade.
or spend £4500 and buy my fireblade BEC, fully road legal, with 18 months left to run before it needs an MOT cos its so new.
Doing a bit of fettling work to make it prettier, and then it'll be on for £5000.
Not up for sale yet really, but keeping an eye out for a buyer.
u2u me if you want details.
mite b interested mate but at the min im going to see if i can pick a mk indy up. but il keep that in mind cheers

put your location on your status it helps others to help you out
sorted
Very much doubt a '98 R1 will make 180bhp.
Difficult to be sure from the photo's but... Front indicators look to close to center line to pass IVA. Side repeater position won't pass
and if the fog light is placed at the same angle as the reverse one, niether will that. Reflective tape won't pass as reflectors. Can't see
a 'cat either so it won't pass the emmision test either if thats the case.
I dont want to wee on anyone chips here, but is that an R1 motor ? dont look like a 1998 R1 motor to me !!
Looks more like an older generation FZR1000 engine, if so can anyone really trust the advert
1998 R1 engine shown below and a FZR1000 engine below that, compare for yourselves
[Edited on 16/5/11 by Hector.Brocklebank]
deffinitely looks like the later pic
Definitely an old FZR1000 engine.
Dodgy as. Steer well clear.
It's not an R1. Zero feedback. Stay away.

The engine cradle is home made not MK and looks like the frame itself was made t fit a car engine not a bike engine.
Dont bother and buy Mr Dangles
Thats not a million miles from me if anyone wants me to look see ?
Too pricey considering what needs to be done/how it's been built..

question sent!
Hi Dan,
whats involved in fitting the R1 engine? i ask because it seems you currently have a FZR1000 engine fitted in the photos, so i assume it comes
supplied with the R1 you mention? is it a straight swap?
cheers
