Clutch pedal
tantoelauw - 17/6/11 at 10:38 AM

Hello,

Recently i've been trying to install a clutch pedal, unfortunatly the action of the pedal is insufficient. The clutch will only move about 30 percent of what is needed.

Does anyone have an idea of how to make it work properly?

Greetings,

Is it an MK pedal or one of your own design? Sounds like you either need to move the pivot point further towards the top of the pedal or else at th other end of the cable, make the connection closer to the pivot.

If you're using the standard MK pedals and fitting a ZX12R engine, you must have some other issue/problem. We have a ZX12R and standard pedals and had to fit a pedal stop to avoid over stretching the clutch cable.

Welcom to the forum BTW

Hello,

Well I'm not entirely sure that it's a MK indy pedal, since i bought the packet from a MK indy dealer. A nice guy but kind of chaotic so it could be that we ended up with the wrong pedal. I'm assuming that if it is an original pedal it would work without any problems. The pedal looks something like this. Is it supposed to look like that? I will try to move the pivot point but i'm not really convinced that it is enough.

And yes we had lots of trouble. Partly because of our inexperience, but some thing just wouldnt fit in the designated places. We had to change all of the engine supports because they were in the wrong place.

Hello,

Are you serious? Well it would explan why the clutch doenst work properly. Strange thing is though we havent got any other pedals which fit in that place. Thats how we figured that it had to be a clutch pedal. It was the only one which fits.

I'm really confused now. I made a picture of where we are

We adjusted the brake pedal a bit. Originally it had a cilinder of similar size below the cilinder in wich the extensions for the brake cilinder are fitted. We stiil have that cilinder but it needs a little adjustment so that it will fit.

Are you able to tell from this picture which pedal should go in which place?

Greetings
