i need to tighten and bolt my front mushrooms but i'm not sure where is the best position for selfcentreing.
cheers steve
Oh no. Can of worms again.
Perhaps do a search because this will set off another argument about castor etc.
You want the upright to lean back as much as possible.
Yep hole to the front
Wherever looks nicest
Yes, can of worms
Turning the mushroom does not change the upper upright pivot point, which is in the centre of the BALL JOINT. The castor imaginary line goes between
the top ball joint centre and the bottom ball joint centre.
Castor will NOT change.
It will effectively raise (very very slightly) the steering rod end pivot point but I do not see how that will help with your self-centering.

Understood! Thank you...
The hole should be at 11 on the clock assuming 12 is front.
Make sure you have at least 3dg camber my exp is that 5dg camber is working perfect on the track.
But it's also pending on the tires you have.
I used Kumho ecsta w700 soft 215/50 - 13" front and 235/45 rear.
cheers
Anders
Surely you can't have both mushroom holes at 11 o'clock.
if the left hand one is at 11 o'clock then the right hand one must be at 1 o'clock
likewise
if the right hand one is at 11 o'clock then the left hand one must be at 1 o'clock
or am I missing something
