Well insurance ran out yesterday so I thought why not tidy up the front end a little;
Plans are to remove front suspension (wishbones etc) and give them a paint strip, blast and powder coat.
Question is what colour???
As you may know I have my own plant so I was thinking a selection of colours (not tooo loud tho) to show customers what's on offer..
My Indy is Yellow so I'm thinking either White, Red of a black sparkle metalic!!
I also intend doing the rear end and may be the wheels unless I can find a set of wheels with FAR LESS spokes?
If not I'm thinking White on the rear and green or Satin Black on the front.
I will also be doing the rear drum housings..
Feel free to comment on the colours I have planned but bare in mind this is my tool for advertising..

Was gonna make a start today but its far tooooo COLD in my garage.
I like the yellow, but why not go for it's complementary colour, blue? to accompany it. Sunny and bright and looks classy.
I'd beware the 'bling' sparkle (IMO). It may show your prowess as a artisan, but----------?
If it was a beach-buggy you were doing, then a 'Billy Smart' colour scheme would be just the ticket.
I appreciate, at the end of the day, it's down to personal taste, (beauty is in the eye of the beholder).
I've gone for (boring) white, including wheels, which set off the black Wilwoods very nicely. Black c/f front arches and white rear with c/f
stoneguards. It's a bit difficult to try and make a locost look 'understated.'

Nose cone off, O/S wishbones off. Will take the N/S apart later and post pics of how the wishbones look prior to blasting and powder coating them.. Still not 100% on want colour yet.. Watch this space..

Why not 'bite the bullet' and go Harlequin? i.e make the whole car an eclectic selection of your powder coating skills.
It removes the decision making process of 'which colour combo?' because you can use the lot.
You'd certainly get noticed and if you didn't like it, then back to being 'Mr Sensible.'

Lights can't go on yet cause my mate is fabricating a new set of brackets for me. These should bring the lights up and out by about 4 inches..
Also got some plastic nut cover caps coming to cover up those nasty bolts and nut

Wheels are back on, fitted my MK Indy grill and also put mesh on the back which I painted in Yellow but it does not seem to show up as well in a
photo.
Tomorrow I will hopefully see my mate about my headlight brackets. If he can get these done my the weekend I will powder coat them (Pink haha) and

Brackets for my lights have been fabricated now. Just need to get them powder coated and re-fit.
So next is that oil change!!! As you may know I had NO sump plug!! So a quick post in the wanted section and WOW with in hours a sump was purchased

And no, no gasket as such, just gasket sealant and not much of it needed for obvious reasons too, like spilling into the sump when compressed...

Took her out yesterday for a 20 mile run just to check every thing felt good....
YEP all felt just great. Will check a few nuts 'n' bolt today after Ive taken her out for another short blast. Looking good and feels
nice.
Next week I will try to get the replacement exhaust on and pop down to CC for a noise check when they have a track day on
Well my replacement end can (from a Westfield megablade) failed.... Better than 115db but still came in at 108db so I think its a stock R-1 end can
thats needs to be fitted for track days..
Still Westfield one does look and sound nice. Will post a pic later along with my BIGGER (!!) lights..

Are you running an air box?
A hell of a lot of noise is from induction.
Do your headlamps not wobble? Those brackets look a bit spindley.
I can't comment on your colour scheme as I'm colour blind but well done all the same!
