Anyone fitted double valved protech shocks to front inboard suspension. Mine clashed and I inverted but I am informed will not work . Any solutions?
Who informed you they wouldnt work?
If it wasnt protech themselves i suggest you ask them first.
I think Danny Keenan has them inverted on his MK Sprortscars race car I could be wrong. I know there has been a lot of discussion around this. Have you spoken to pro Tech he is always willing to answer questions
bet i could guess who told you they don't work.
i have them fitted on my car and don't have any problrms/
thanks danny
I glad to hear they will work . I will talk with Protech. Thanks for your interest and info.
Wishing all you 7 guys a happy christmas and new year.

This question seems to be a recurring one on here. There should not really be any need to ask because you can find out if your shocks work
'inverted' on your own.
Take off the spring.
Hold the rod end fitting in a vice or other secure means.
You'll probably need to slack off the adjuster(s) to minimum. Then just open and close the shock by hand keeping it vertical.
You should feel a smooth, continuous resistance to movement through the whole stroke in both directions.
If there are parts of the stroke without resistance or a complete absence of resistance then your shock is not suitable for fitting
'inverted'.
You can also try the same manual test with the adjuster(s) screwed in and this should result in the resistance increasing.
Please note that this check only applies to the twin tube dampers such as the Gaz, Avo, Spax,Protech dampers fitted to 99% of Locosts.
A high pressure gas shock will be forced open on its own by the gas pressure. You can still do the manual check but the gas pressure can mask the
damping effects.
I hope that helps.

Thanks Mike and Danny
Had a call from Danny at MK confirming no problem inverted. I emailed protech to get technical info. Just had a new set of front carbon wings to fit
over 13" wheels on slicks. Has anyone used Dunlop HC100 hillclimb tyres?
Regards
Alex
Just had email from Protech ,no problem inverting shocks
