Best way to fix GSXR mirrors to roll cage?
Sloan85 - 27/7/13 at 11:09 PM

I was thinking M5 stainless rivnuts, two per mirror, but my concern is how robust the rivnuts will be should the mirrors get knocked. Are there any other suggestions?

Cheers

Mine uses gsxr mirrors attached with 2 aluminium rivnuts into a sheet of aluminium behind the fibreglass. Actually these bolts also go through the bottom of the 4mm flyscreen. I am fairly sure I used 2x M6 button head stainless set-screws.

Seems to have stood up well.

If you wallop the mirrors then they pivot, so the forces are not that massive.

I welded a small plate to the cage, same size as the base of the mirror. That gave me plenty of material to drill and tap a thread into. Couple of stainless bolts and its nice and secure
