wheel fitment issues
Matty_o - 4/8/13 at 05:36 PM

Hi, i recently purchsed some team dynamics pro race 1.2 alloys and have gone to fit them today and they dont fit.

Im running rear sierra discs and callipers and when the rear wheel is fitted it fouls on the handbrake return spring and mechanism. Is ther anyways of getting around this?

Oh yea they are 13 inch with an et23 offset as they chap who sold me them assured they would fit. Just wanted to kno if any other peeps have had the same issue before i bell him up snd fire a few f#cks into him.

Thanks in advance, matty.

Do a search, there was someone that had the springs made smaller so they'd fit.

I had some of the springs..

will check the workshop and let you know

Gavin174 if you could check that would be great and would much appreciate it.

My other issue was it was also touching on the end of the handbrake cable/mechanism. Would it be a case of a tightening up the handbrake a little to pull it out the way (making sure its not binding the brakes on obviously) or getting the old grinder out and shaving a little bit off?

Or going back to a set of 15s?really like the look of the 13s tho.

Tbh getting fed up with it all atm being royaly f#ucked over by parts suppilers with either parts being deliverd damaged or not turning up at all or not fitting lol just wana drive it!

Would a spacer between the hub and the wheel help you out?
If so, drop me a u2u as I might be able to help you out with them.

Not sure a spacer would cure it tbh unless it was quite big but then have the trouble of wheels sticking out of the arches.
Surely its more of a rim diameter issure?
Iv been doing some searching and rekon a smaller caliper sping and slight mods to handbrake mechanism to get em to fit.
Will let you kno when iv sorted it.

Thanks for the help

Matty

I had to bend the arms out slightly and shortern the springs a little to get them to fit, just have to watch balance weights do not foul when stuck on.

I bought some springs with 2 coils off RJK350 on this forum. Also had to bend the handbrake bracket down slightly. Got about 3mm clearance now.

My wheels were et35 though.

I also bought new hoses as the standard ones were just touching the wheels at the bottom. The new ones had a 20 degree banjo on so came out the side instead of going down towards wheel.
