Does anyone happen to know where I can get hold of some of the Red Loctite Threadlock??

Halfords or a local motorfactor should have it. I got some from my local DIY store last time.

Problem is that I can get the Blue type from Halfords but the Red one is Max strength it's called Loctite Threadlok 268 and I can't seem to find it anywhere apart from in the US.

I can put my hands on something very similar, locktite 270.

I think 270 is stronger still and basically makes it there for life!! which is a bit more than I want hence using 268 which is stronger than blue but not stuck for ever!!

We use 290 (green) threadlock in the work shop, petrol resistant IIRC.

The oldest swinger in town eh!!! That's what I remember Fred for. Anyway, I've been for some bolts this afternoon and the supplier has loctite red

I obtain loctite from local engineers suplies shop. I suggest you have a look in yell.com for a local one, near you , not me.
