Hi guy's
I've been riveting my brake pipe's to the chassis today. Front's and rear's all done but I'm not quick sure about the route
to take through the transmission tunnel.
When the kit arrived from mk they where cable tied to the chassis. The rear brake line running through the tunnel is at the top not at the bottom. Can
I mount it at the top or is this not a good idea?
I have an adjustable brake pedal box fitted but I'm unsure whether these master cylinder's will be ok to pass the iva test?
Any feedback would be great.
Thanks guys
Regards
Ian
I too am interested in the best place to run brake lines through the tunnel, as for the master cylinders, I am pretty sure they all need sensors in the caps, ive gone for remote reservoir as it came with the sensor in the lid.
Not built an MK but that pipe that looks like it's routed under the lower wishbone (4th pic down) doesn't seem right to me...
I have run both brake and fuel along the top of the tunnel, easy to get at and see.
Brake line
As above, you need sensors for brake fluid level for IVA, and the pipe under wishbone looks wrong.
I would say you need another P clip on the drivers side front pipe too just behind the shock mounting, in same position as the one you've put on
pass side.
Personally I would add more P clips in the spaces you have left.
Thanks for the replies.
The only reason I have run the o/s/f brake pipe under the wishbone mount is I have seen others do it and also seen a factory built mk with it mounted
like this but I thank you for your input.
I will mount the tunnel brake pipes where they are then. Thanks "40inches"
So I don't need to buy see through cylinders then?
Is there a sensor kit I can get to put into the brake cylinder caps?
Thanks again for the replies

Sorry can't help with your questions but have to say I love the colour scheme you've got going on
Im with dubzter and is the colour scheme I am planning for mine after the rebuild and now I've seen yours I will definitely be going ahead with
it.
Keep up the good work

So do I need clear cylinders or can I get away with just having the level sensors?
Thanks guys for the comments on the colour scene ;-) it is in your face but that's what I was trying to achieve.
I will post a build tread up when I get chance.
I would also like to say that this forum has been great with friendly knowledgeable people that are willing to help others out.

No you dont need them if you havd level sensors.
