Build costs Bike v's Car engine
donut - 8/1/05 at 05:23 PM

Probably the most important factor when deciding which car to build is the build cost. Perhaps we can have a list of what people have spent upto SVA pass then people can decide if they can indeed afford the bike option.

I'll start

Car: Indy
Engine: 2 Litre Pinto
Cost: about £4.500

If there is a similar post please let us know so we can add to that.

indy busa by the time iv finished will of cost me 9500
im sure ,like most of us i could of done both cars abit cheaper but they wouldnt of looked how i wanted them, getting stuff nickel plated has been expensive but thats the look i want, trying to get old stuff looking like new comes at a price as well.if i do another one i might shop around for better prices

MK indy blackbird approx £9000

that full engine rebuild and dry sump bumped up the cost a s**t load after I knocked out a big end tho.

I'm still building my pinto powered indy but estimate the final build cost to be approx £5500. By the time i'd rebuilt the engine & tuned it(cam, lightened, ported, carbs etc) it cost me as much as maybe a blade engine.
I decided on the car engine for the drive, low revs etc.
A bloke at work built his blade indy for the same money I've estimated for mine.
