Hi again
Is anyone on here actually running a Indy R, Zetec and Type 9?
If so please can you let me know - I have a range of head scratching questions that i'm sure can be easily answered by someone running the same
setup as me!
Be very grateful!
Thanks
Daz
I am running MAC#1 Type ZR, Zetec and Type 9
I believe the MAC#1 is "similar" to MK Indy.
Its a common combination, ask away......
Hi thanks for the reply.
First one is that my gear lever sits about 4" below the tunnel top. Which seems odd - cant really be anywhere else though as the engine/gearbox
position is determined by the mounts etc.
Just wondering how people are managing that?
Ill have to have a huge hole in the tunnel top to allow the movement or the gear level?

See pics from my build.

looking at my pics the gear lever mounting surface is about 4" below tunnel top. I chopped a few inches off the top of sierra lever and it fits
just fine. There is enough room to select all the gears.
NOTE: The MAC#1 engine mounts are quite far back in the car so the lever is in the correct place ergonomically, not under the dash like some other
sevens where you need an extension.

If the lever of that far below the tunnel top. The travel by the tunnel top if far greater. So surely you end up with a massive hole (instead of a
small one)?

Yeah really I need indyr zetec owners. There must be some??

Here is my "hole", it's not massive. The pivot point for the type 9 gear lever is actually above the mounting plate, about 1-2"
from memory. So the throw at tunnel top is fine and certainly does not touch my square MAC#1 chassis members.
I had to shave a bit off the right angle ali trim to get reverse, but that's only because the gearbox sits slightly to the left in the tunnel.
