Has anyone used a 45 profile tyre, instead of a 50 on there Indy assuming you have used a 15" rim?
Pro's or Cons?
General opinion is that 45 profile is too low and will give you a very sudden breakaway once you exceed the grip limit, which could be pretty
dangerous. I wouldn't go any less than 50 profile, and a lot of people swear by using smaller rims with larger profile tyres - I think 13"
with 60 profile is a popular choice.
Hope that helps,
Pete
Thought as much, cheers pete!
There is some nice new unused rims on ebay that come with 45 profile rubber for a song, but no harm in asking if they could put 50 profiles on
instead!
Its 195/45 15's that are on mine....getting changed ASAP - the only outing I have had (knockhill) and there was no warning before breakaway - was
good fun but not controllable!
The suspension etc isn't properly set up either which should make a big difference when sorted too....
anyone got light 14'' wheels and super sticky tyres for sale?
