MK website down?
zetec - 19/2/05 at 06:41 PM

Been trying to get on the MK website all day, is it down?

john_p_b - 19/2/05 at 06:57 PM

i think it's in a transitional state at the moment. i got on there this morning to get the postcode for MK but the site is totally different to the other day when i looked and very little was working on there this morning. i dare say give it a day or so and it'll be back better than ever.

john_p_b - 19/2/05 at 06:58 PM

ok i was beaten to it by the man himself

dozracing - 21/2/05 at 06:22 PM

Nothing appears to be working properly.

I think i actually preferred the old site. New one looks a little too clip arty. Other site was quite meaningful in my opinion.

flak monkey - 21/2/05 at 06:54 PM

Why do MK now have 2 websites anyway?

http://www.mkengineering.co.uk
and
http://www.mk-sportscars.fsnet.co.uk/

They are both completely different...and tbh I dont like the new one (the second one above) that much either...

There are 2 different companys since april(?) last year.
One for the Infy and the other one for the GT-R.

YouŽll probably get a better explination soon

Hellfire - 22/2/05 at 12:40 AM

There were a few people tendering for the job of website design, of which i was one.

HERE

That was my (beta) copy at the time - now I haven't the time to do anymore...

Just checked it out.....

Very unimpressed TBH..particularly dislike the fixed width....hard to see the full width here on my laptop. As others say a bit artsy and lacking in info.

Hellfire's is way better IMO.

bob - 22/2/05 at 03:22 PM

I'm sure we have some web designers here, donut is at home polishing his mx5 and cutting hair so he has the time on his hands

James - 22/2/05 at 05:43 PM

Snoopy,

For goodness sake get rid of this line on the first page:

"Mk Sportscars is the home of the Indy, the value for money supercar. "

Sounds like something you'd buy at Nettos/Lidl etc. Not the blatantly lovely car that it is!

Atb,
James

Artsy is being polite...looks like a 15 yearold with a fetish for clipart has been let loose with a cheap html package.

If fact, on closer examination of the first page...

meta name="generator" content="Namo WebEditor v5.0(Trial)"

TBH, if you want to save on web design, limit the site to a page or two - spent the money on quality. There's also normally quite a few semi-pros around willing to do it either on the cheaply on the side, or in return for services rendered.

Sorry if this is a bit of a rant, but I've seen too many small businesses waste their money this way....

Stephen

sorry but i too have to agree with the above comments,

dozracing - 1/3/05 at 04:41 PM

So whats happening with the site?

Its been a couple of weeks now like this, and in this day and age that has got to be affecting business. I might as well give up if i had my website out of action for a few days.

Can't you get the old one uploaded again until the new one is improved?

Is this perhaps explaining my sudden massive increase in orders?

I think Hellfires site looks great, at the moment i think tigers is one of the best sites from the budget kitcar manufactures. If you went it the look of hellfires, got some more info on there, but kept it nice and organised it would be great.

You really need to sort out the one at the moment, i want an aeroscreen like the one on paul fishers in the gallery but you cant see any parts on the site.

I think you may have to look on the Westfield site, if you want aeroscreen like that.

far better looking and easier to use than the last attempt i think you'll find thats the whole sentance rather than the bit you decided to take out.

thought it was only tabloid news paper editors and politicians that did that

as hellfire said, they are not web designers and they don't pretend to be. IMO what needs to be there is there and anything else ppl might want or need to know about the cars is only a quick google search away.

littlemaf - 24/4/05 at 06:06 PM

hellfire: did u mean 'Matt' as in me? well i dint think i even had a site, i dont bother with it too much any more. i used to have 1 with games n stuff for me m8's at school but i haven't been doing it lately.

john_p_b: i was quoting a certain phrase, when you quote something you tend to cut the rest out so ppl know what bit ur actually quoting.

what ever happened to the mkownersclub site, the blue one. that was the best i'd seen but then it dissapeard.
